Dan Shanley
Dan
is serving his first term on the town board, after being appointed to the
position in Oct. 2011. His first
elected four-year term will commence in January 2012. Dan, a 2008 graduate of Holland Patent High School, is nearing
completion of his Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Utica College, from
which he anticipates graduating in May of 2012. He is employed in the school’s Office of Marketing and
Communications as a public relations intern, and has previously served over 500
volunteer hours to the American Red Cross in disaster preparedness education. Dan has organized community events such as
the 2010 Trail of Terror and the 2011 Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service in
Rome, NY, and has an academic and personal interest in community outreach and
community relations. In his free time, Dan is an
avid photography hobbyist, and has studied photojournalism.
