Notice of Dog Quarantine

January 14, 2010
Summary:

TOWN OF TRENTON

DOG OWNERS

NOTICE OF QUARANTINE

Notice is hereby given that the Oneida County Board of Legislators has passed a resolution ordering that all dogs in the county are to be securely confined during the time period beginning January 14, 2010 until April 15, 2010.  The quarantine is intended to prevent deer depredation in Oneida County.  Dogs running loose may be seized by any dog control officer, peace officer or police officer.  Under some circumstances a dog chasing a deer can be shot, and the dog owner can be liable for a civil penalty if their dog kills or cripples a deer.
