“Celebrating Family Farms of the
Tug Hill Region” is a traveling art exhibit portraying local, working farm
families ranging from dairy to beekeeping to maple sugaring. The exhibit is intended to not only
celebrate these working families, but also to educate the public about the
diversity and quality of local products, while recognizing and appreciating the
work involved on these family farms.
The traveling exhibit is
comprised of 16 original paintings, by Lewis County Artist, Loretta
Lepkowski.When creating these uniquely
beautiful paintings, Lepkowski’s vision was to portray memorable scenes
heightening the beauty of the human spirit found within the agriculturally
based Tug Hill region.
The exhibit began its tour with
an Opening Reception held at the Lowville Fire Hall on Sunday, May 23,
2010.Since then, it has traveled to
the Lowville Free Library, Jefferson County Dairy Festival, and Cornell
Co-operative Ext. of Lewis County.To
