Town of Trenton Announces 2014 Swim Beach Changes:
June 30, 2014
Swim Beach to open June 28 – August 23
In an effort to control rising costs, and ensure town taxpayers the most value for their taxes, the Town Board is implementing the following changes to the 2014 Swim Beach season.
Access to the Shirley M. Poland Swim Beach will now be regulated through a Resident ID card, Season Pass, or Day Pass System. Upon entering the bathing beach, patrons must show either their Town Resident ID Card, or purchase a non-resident season pass or non-resident day pass.
Access to the Swim Beach will remain at no cost for all Town of Trenton residents. Beginning Tuesday, June 10, residents must visit the Town Clerk’s office to sign up for and receive your Resident ID cards. Two cards will be issued per family. All family member names living at same address will be listed on card. Residents must show a state-issued ID, and proof of Town residency in the form of a Tax or Utility Bill from the last 6 months to pick up cards.
Replacement cards for Resident IDs that are lost will cost $10.00 per card.
Residents must show the Resident ID card upon entry to the Swim Beach.
Non-residents will have the following options for using the Swim Beach. Season Pass ID cards will be available for purchase at the Town Clerk’s office during the Clerk’s normal business hours beginning Tuesday, June 10. Rates will be set at $65.00 for an Individual Pass, or $125.00 for a Family Pass up to 4 guests. Additional family members may be added for $25.00 per person. All family member names living at same address will be listed on card. Season Pass cards must be shown upon entry to the Swim Beach.
Guests wishing to use the Swim Beach on a day-to-day basis may purchase a Swim Beach Day pass from the Park Manager at the beach house. Day passes cost $3.00 per person.
The staff and officials at the Town of Trenton appreciate your patience as this new procedure is implemented. Our goal is to ensure a safe, enjoyable beach experience for all of our guests, and to ensure that town residents continue to benefit from their many recreational options.
Pavilion rental includes limited Swim Beach access.
If you have questions about this new procedure, please contact Joseph Smith, Town Supervisor, or Dan Shanley, Town Councilman at 315-896-2664.
